v1.7.0 · Team Knowledge Sharing

Your second brain,
powered by AI

NestBrain ingests your documents, articles, and notes — then uses AI to build a living, interconnected knowledge base you can search, query, and think with.

$29 binary or build it yourself — same app · Mac + Windows · open source

📂

Your knowledge is scattered

Notion pages, browser bookmarks, downloaded PDFs, Slack threads. You've read it. You can't find it when it matters.

💬

AI assistants forget everything

ChatGPT starts from zero every session. No memory, no context, no connection between ideas. It knows nothing about your work.

⏱️

Re-reading is wasted time

The insight you need is in a tab you closed six months ago. NestBrain remembers everything — so you don't have to.

How it works

Three steps. Zero configuration. All yours.

01

Ingest

Drop in URLs, PDFs, Markdown files, GitHub repos, or plain text. NestBrain pulls everything in.

02

Compile

The AI reads every source and builds a structured, interlinked wiki. Concepts connect. Gaps surface automatically.

03

Ask & Explore

Ask questions, get cited answers. Browse the knowledge graph. Your second brain — always ready, always growing.

Sync · stable in v1.1

One brain. Every device.

Sign in with Google and NestBrain keeps your workspace in lockstep across every machine you use — laptop, desktop, work, anywhere. Edits land within ~60 seconds. Sync is optional, per-device, and your data lives in your own Google Drive.

🔒

Your Drive, your files

NestBrain creates a dedicated NestBrain-Sync folder inside your own Google Drive. The drive.file OAuth scope means the app can only see what NestBrain itself put there — never the rest of your Drive. No NestBrain server in the middle, ever.

🛡️

Union-only, never destructive

A delete on one device never destroys data on the others — local deletes go to a synced .trash/ folder recoverable from any machine. Only an explicit "Delete on all devices…" with a typed confirmation removes a file everywhere.

🔀

Conflict? Keep both.

Edit the same note on two devices while offline? Both versions survive. Your local file stays put; the other arrives next to it as foo.conflict-<timestamp>.md. You decide what to merge — NestBrain never silently overwrites your edits.

⚙️

Optional, per-device

Sync is off by default. Turn it on per machine; choose whether your Projects/ code folder travels with the rest. node_modules, .git, build artifacts, and API keys are always excluded. Your preferences live on each device — switch them any time from Settings.

Background watcher · Drive REST API · MD5 diffs · atomic writes · no subscription · no NestBrain account · your data is yours.

Enterprise · Team Knowledge Sharing

One brain. Your entire organization.

Personal sync keeps you in step across your devices. Team Knowledge Sharing keeps your whole team in step — a single, compiled body of institutional knowledge, synchronized in real time on infrastructure you own and control.

🧩

Compile once. Shared with everyone.

Each member compiles knowledge locally — the expensive AI work happens a single time, then a teammate's articles appear in your wiki, search and Mind Map. No re-compiling, no paying the LLM bill twice for the same source.

🏛️

Your server. Your data. Full sovereignty.

Self-hosted on your own VPS or private server — never a NestBrain machine in the middle. Content is encrypted in transit and at rest. Your intellectual property stays inside your perimeter, under your governance.

Real-time, conflict-safe synchronization

A background engine propagates changes the moment they land. Edit the same article on two machines and both versions are preserved — never a silent overwrite. Incoming knowledge is re-indexed locally so search and Ask find it instantly.

🛡️

Centralized seats, members & licensing

Provision members, allocate seats and monitor activity from an in-app admin console. Access is enforced by a signed, seat-based license validated centrally — with offline grace, so your server never holds your team's knowledge hostage.

A knowledge base that looks and feels like a tool you actually want to use.

Wiki article view with concepts sidebar and related links

Interconnected wiki

Every source becomes a Markdown article with frontmatter, backlinks, tags, and navigable [[wikilinks]]. Concepts connect automatically as the LLM compiles new sources.

Neural Mind Map with colour-coded macro-atom clusters, one expanded into its concepts

Mind Map

A neural graph of your knowledge. Dense topics collapse into glowing macro atoms that explode on hover — fanning out their concepts with readable labels, then re-collapsing when you move away. Pinch-zoom, pan, and click any node to open its article.

Ask view — natural language Q&A with cited answers

Ask anything, get cited answers

Natural-language Q&A grounded in your wiki. Answers include only the citations the LLM actually used, linking straight back to the source articles. Every answer is auto-saved to the knowledge base.

Wiki Health dashboard with score, metrics and findings

Wiki Health Check

An LLM-powered audit of your knowledge base: orphan articles, broken links, stubs, content gaps, and inconsistencies. Every finding is actionable — one click and you're on the exact article.
